Howard Hecht is Managing Director with IndustryLabs, Ltd. He brings 30 years of global experience in a broad spectrum of technology, business, and global market development to the firm. He is co-host of The COIL, a weekly radio program dealing with the convergence of business, technology, and culture.
He is Publisher of Sharpened Sticks, a satirical journal focused on technology and media. Howard was founder and CEO of Unschooled, a pioneering digital music production/publishing firm and Fearless Group, Ltd, the preeminent network silicon research firm. Mr. Hecht's most recent corporate assignments were Senior VP, Business Development for Paradyne Corporation and Senior VP of Marketing, GlobeSpan/Virata Semiconductor.
Mr. Hecht was an original member of the senior management team picked by the Texas Pacific Group to lead the successful turnaround of this venerable data communications organization. Prior to Paradyne and GlobeSpan Semiconductor, Mr. Hecht served as the VP, Global Strategies, for Newbridge Networks, where he also held a seat on the Chairman's Executive Council. He was a major component of Newbridge's early successes in global service provider market.
He has held key senior level consultant/industry analyst positions with Gartner, Coopers & Lybrand and Decisys. He also held senior technical staff positions including Regional Manager of Network Engineering, Pacific Telesis Group (Pacific Bell) and Corporate Network Manager, Litton Industries. He is an internationally known speaker and author who has presented in over 40 countries and appeared in numerous technical, business, design, literary, and sociological journals. He holds a B.S.C from the McClure School of Information and Telecommunications Systems at Ohio University.
