The inaugural Technology and Society Workshop (TASW) brings together experts from across Australia in a program addressing current research, contemporary issues, and industry led innovations. TASW14 will be held in New South Wales in 2014.
Wearable Computing, Self and Society: Beyond Techno-utopia
Wearable computing technologies are becoming increasingly prevalent. They are used for a variety of purposes: to self-track bodily functions and daily activities as part of life-logging and quantifying the self, in healthcare delivery, public health monitoring and health promotion activities and simply as convenient devices for going online. This workshop will examine the social, cultural, ethical and political implications of the use of these technologies.
